Radian Systems participated in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2025 in Sydney, Australia. As the largest space event in the world, the IAC is an important gathering for the global space community.
Our Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Laura González Llamazares, led Radian’s representation at the event. Returning to Sydney was a special experience for Laura, who had previously lived in Adelaide as a teenager and later studied aerospace engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney a decade ago. Being back for the world’s premier space conference brought a unique sense of connection and nostalgia.
The IAC was a fantastic opportunity for Radian to expand our frontiers. The location attracted a greater presence from Asia Pacific countries, providing us with invaluable chances to interact and connect with companies and organizations that we don’t typically encounter at conferences in Europe or the US. It was a busy week of reconnecting with Australian and international space friends, engaging with current customers, and meeting new potential clients. Another highlight was seeing the Alba CubeSat team from the University of Padova present their paper, “Validation of Alba CubeSat’s Thermal Model: from simulations to experimental testing”- it was a proud moment to see our software enabling such impressive research.
Laura also gave a presentation on Hypatia Mars, is a female-led organization that conducts analog missions to promote scientific vocations in the field of space exploration. Sydney was the perfect backdrop for networking opportunities, including the yearly gathering organized by the International Space University (ISU). Laura also made a dedicated visit to Adelaide, the hub of the Australian Space Agency, where she met with several local companies.
IAC 2025 has been a tremendous success, reaffirming Radian’s commitment to international collaboration and innovation.
Radian’s participation at IAC 2025 has been possible thanks to the support from the Generalitat de Catalunya (Departament d’Empresa i Treball) and funded by the European Union Next Generation EU (Pla de Recuperació, Transformació i Resiliència).
