Radian Systems was proud to play a significant role in the New Space Congress 2024 in Barcelona, the largest space event in the region. This year’s congress was a resounding success, completely sold out with over 800 participants, underscoring the explosive growth and burgeoning interest in the New Space economy.

A particular highlight for Radian was the distinguished role of our Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Laura González Llamazares, who served as the Master of Ceremonies for both days of the congress. Laura’s expertise and engaging presence ensured the smooth flow of the event, guiding discussions, introducing speakers, and adding an extra layer of professionalism and energy to the proceedings. It was an honor for Radian to gain such visibility through her prominent involvement.

The New Space Congress has become a pivotal gathering, not only for the space ecosystem across Catalonia and Spain but also for the increasingly international community. This year’s edition boasted an impressive lineup of speakers from diverse countries and prominent space leaders, including representatives from Axiom Space and other key global players. The discussions centered on critical themes such as international cooperation, commercialization, and the application of space technologies for sustainability and economic growth.

The Catalan New Space ecosystem is experiencing remarkable growth, driven by the ambitious New Space Strategy of Catalonia. This initiative, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and executed in collaboration with leading institutions like IEEC, i2CAT, and the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC), is taking great strides to empower local space companies and foster the community. Through accelerators, grants, and talent development programs, Barcelona is rapidly establishing itself as a vibrant hub for space innovation.
